A GUI makes use of a WIMP environment:Windows, icons, menus and pointer. The background of the screen is celled the desktop, which contains labelled pictures celled icons. When you run a program, you PC opens a window that lets you work with different tools. All the program have a high level of consistency, with similar toolbars, menu bars buttons and dialog boxes.
