In the culture system described in present study, the
calli were effectively induced from anthers, and efficient
multiplication of regenerated plantlets was
achieved. More than 50 rooted plantlets could be produced
from one adventitious shoot within two months,
which may be applied for large-scale plantlet production.
The propagation of shoots was carried out by
direct shoot induction from the leaf, not from callus
derived from leaves or other parts. Therefore, genetic
aberrations occuring during mitotic divisions in the
growing callus are avoided [9].
