Among the different solvents, those chloroform:methanol (2:1v/v) showed higher extraction efficiency, with a virtually complete extraction of lycopene and beta-carotene in aril oil higher than aril (undried) (extracted by tetrahydrofuran:methanol (4:1)) was 0.49 and that of beta carotene was 1.18 mg/g, followed by petroleum ether (0.30 and 0.14 mg/g) and hexane (0.21 and 0.12 mg/g).
