Using a similar methodology, Cha et al showed that consumption of carnitine together with caffeine, which has similar lipolytic properties to heparin would result in increased concentration of FFA, increased fat oxidation and decreased carbohydrate oxidation and enhanced endurance performance during exercise [23] The study of Murosaki et al also showed that combining carnitine and caffeine would lead to a more significant increase in lipolysis and Beta-oxidation than the consumption of each alone [24].
