Conclusion and recommendations
This study showed that high myopia, blunt ocular trauma, pseudophakia and surgical aphakia in decreasing order were the main risk factors predisposing Ethiopians to RRD. Myopia, being the commonest predisposing factor for RRD in this study, needs special attention. High myopic patients have to be advised to have regular follow ups with dilated fundus examination at retina clinics in order to detect early and treat accordingly those predisposing degenerative retinal lesions and breaks common in these patients.
