4. Conclusion
This newly designed chelating resin can be successfully employed for the separation, preconcentration and determination of Cd(II), Co(II), Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III), Pb(II), and Zn(II) ions in food and various water samples by FAAS. The resin is an effective chelating resin and offers a useful multi-element preconcentration technique for applying to various samples such as water, meat and baby food samples with acceptable accuracy and precision. The high stability of the resin permitted hundreds of adsorption-elution cycles along the studies without any significant decrease in its efficiency. The accuracy of the developed method was successfully performed by analyzing the two certified reference materials. Also the trace element contents were determined in natural waters and food samples. The data from the presented method have been compared with those of recently reported methods on determination of the analyte ions (Table 5). Some parameters obtained are comparable to those presented by the other methods.
