The Ministry is working to provide additional services to the general public, such as information concerning the civil petition procedure. Various interactive services will be developed in the long-term to replace current one-way digital civil administrative services, which involve filing citizen’s claims and gathering opinions. The Ministry plans to build a foundation for providing such interactive services as digital signature and self-authentication by 2000, and to carry out pilot projects for the availability of full-fledged services by 2002. Services will be expanded by continuously identifying civil affair tasks through the joint utilization of information among government bodies.
