Though Kroc may seem breezy, independent and freedom loving (as mentioned in the previous chapter), he is in fact not completely happy without a partner. He enjoys being on the move and exploring new territory, but wants a traveling companion! Kroc yearns for fulfilling, yet non-restricting relationships.
Harmony and balance are his keynotes. Ray Kroc instinctively understands the need to accommodate other people's interests and desires, and he is always fair and willing to meet others half way. Tactful, diplomatic, and quite socially aware, Ray does all he can to avoid conflict and discord. His spirit is one of cooperation and compromise, and he often achieves through charm and discretion what would have been impossible to achieve with a direct, forceful approach.
Getting along with and pleasing others may be too important to Kroc since he can be too dependent on the approval and opinions of other to make his own decisions. Kroc will rarely act without seeking the counsel and feedback of other people. He prefers sharing and doing things with others rather than on his own. Being alone feels very unnatural to Ray Kroc, and he has a strong need for a partner and intimate one-on-one relationships.
Ray Kroc invests a great deal of his energy in personal love relationships and he is very idealistic and romantic about marriage. Ray Kroc seeks a partner who is his equal intellectually, and who is capable of a mental relationship as well as a physical and emotional one. He makes a thoughtful, considerate friend or lover, and he enjoys the traditional symbols of love - courtship, flowers, etc. Kroc perceives relationships like an art that requires time, attention and creative effort. Ray Kroc appreciates a partner who is subtle and polished, never coarse or blunt.
Fairness and equality, both in his personal relationships and in the world, are extremely important to him. If Ray Kroc fights about anything, it is often about something he feels is unfair and unbalanced. Balance is very important to Ray. He believes in moderation in all things and avoids fanaticism and extremism at all costs.
Ray Kroc also has a strong need for beautiful, harmonious surroundings and a natural sense of artistic style and grace, which is reflected in the way Kroc dresses and furnishes his home and workspace. Everything must be aesthetically pleasing and appropriate. Working with people as a counselor, advisor, consultant, or negotiator, or in an artistic field such as design or photography would be fulfilling to him.
World travel, foreign cultures, and studies which expand his intellectual horizons and broaden his understanding of the world are very attractive to Kroc.
Ray Kroc has a philosophical turn of mind and is concerned with seeking answers to the big questions of life or getting the overview of any situation. Abstract concepts and/or plans for the future occupy his mind much of the time.
Ray has lofty aspirations but does not struggle or labor to achieve them. His self-confidence and inner harmony attract success and benefit him in an almost magical way. His optimism and cheerful generosity also win Kroc many allies and successes in life.
He is polite and gallant and makes a special effort to meet others half-way. Ray Kroc has the ability to give and receive love. Nurturing friendships, personal love relationships and social life is important to him.
Kroc seems to lack self-confidence and has a sense of anxiety and insecurity that has no obvious cause. Ray Kroc tends to withdraw and his outlook in general could be a bit too negative. Ray Kroc should beware of letting his emotional tension react to his physical well-being.
