spectraldecomposition.Multivariateanalyseswerethendoneon
thetreateddatatodifferentiateintoclusterstheorganicnatural
materials.StudiesinvolvingPrincipalComponentAnalysis(PCA)on
diversespectroscopicdatawerealreadydoneondifferenttypesof
samplesandwithdifferentaims:materialrecognition [8,13,31,32]
or identificationofacompoundinamixture [33]. Weherefocused
on theabilityoftheseanalysestoclustersampleswithsimilar
vibrationalcharacteristics.Sincethesespectroscopicfeaturesrefer
toparticularvibrationsinspecific molecularenvironments,new
discriminatingcriteriaformaterialrecognitionwereestablished.
