On Tuesday, when we go visit Tycons, we should find out a few things:
1) If SA-15 and SA-6 have RO or demi water facility.
2) What kind of heating system is used for their tanks. It seems the polymer lubricant is better suited for steam heat exchanger.
3) When do they plan to change back to polymer based lubricant
Here is the plan I have in mind:
1) Get sample from Ecolube and test drying time and consumption. Maybe on Tuesday we can collect some samples from Tycons. The samples we collect will be already coated in Zinc phosphate and soap based lubricant. JR, is there a way to remove the soap based lubricant without destroying the Zinc phosphate layer?
2) At the same time, I will ask Jack and Botun (our Brochure design team) to design a promotional brochure for this product.
3) Contact Ecoproject once more about pricing. Our biggest obstable right now it the pricing. The competitor's product is 140THB/kg to Tycons, and our buy price at the moment from Ecoproject is almost 300THB/kg.
4) Decide which line to attack first.
SA-15 is used for >5mm coils.
It is the same line they used Formlube with.
They still have an oven heater from before to assist drying of polymer. (Our process will not need that, according to Giacomo)
Thicker coils mean lower surface area --> Lower consumption.
SA-6 is used for Higher consumption.
I would choose the attack SA-15 first because the workers their already have experience and the lower consumption will not scare the customer away. (Although I am not sure how much different it will be).
