Cut a wooden dowel rod down to your desired length.
Use a sharp knife to thin down one end of each stick, beginning about halfway down the stick.
Make the bottom thinned down gradually down to the point, ending about 1/2 of the diameter.
Sand the sticks so they have blunt edges, making them smooth and rounded.
Smooth each end and sides. Make sure you don't leave splinters or rough edges.
Lay your chopsticks side by side. Take a rubber band and place over the top part of your chopsticks. This is usually done at the top of the sticks. Make sure you don't bind it too tight or your rubber band will break.
