Among the academician nurses, 89% perceived themselves as leaders while 11% stated that they were not leader. When the reasons these academicians provided as to why they felt like leaders were
considered, it was found that 40% attributed this to a positive approach and to problem solving skills, 26% to having a vision, 26% to having the ability to exhibit trustworthiness, while 22% attributed their feelings to being able to serve as a role model to students (Table 1).
