Levels of CA-125 are often elevated in women with advanced endometriosis, (5) but elevated levels can also be observed in early pregnancy, during normal menstruation, and in women
with acute pelvic inflammatory disease or leiomyomas (6). Some studies detected that the abortion risk is increased in pregnant women with higher CA125 levels (7,8). On the other hand, others could not find a statistically significant difference in the CA125 levels when abortion cases were compared with the cases of continuing pregnancy.
