After identifying the convective cells and their tracks as described
above, the next step is to interpolate between the observed RCs by applying a specific advection correction, which relies on the velocity and
shift vectors, vT=(du,dv) and sT, respectively, computed by TRACE3D.
In this step, the data is transferred to the DWD's 900 ×900 km 2
RADOLAN composite grid with an equidistant distance of 1 km. The projection of the grid is polar-stereographic with a center point at 9.0°E and
51.0°N.
