Job Description
Manufacturing company located in the northwestern suburbs seeks an accounting manager for a contract-to -hire opportunity. All operations are located in the United States. The person taking on this role would be responsible for reviewing results for all plants. The company will be converting their accounting department to SAP in the near future, so prior experience with that software would be a plus. This person would be responsible for the following duties:
Schedules and maintains accounting processes including month and year end
Reviews and posts journal entries Posts expense reports for all employees
Monthly Bank account reconciliation review
Monthly Account reconciliation review
Manage accounting staff of 5 which includes daily operations of the assigned team members including personnel management and conducting annual reviews
Manage the cost accounting function; and prepare monthly reporting for management
Prepares and updates fixed asset schedules with purchase and disposal activity
Review monthly sales taxes returns including leading any sales and use tax audits
Provide support for interim and year end audits
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Prior experience managing the month end close function, and supervising cross functional teams
MBA or CPA is required
5+ years as an Accounting Manager
Prior experience with SAP is a plus
Prior experience managing the cost accounting function
Intermediate excel skills (pivot tables and lookups)
Prior experience with monthly reporting or analysis
