The Snf1 kinase exerts its function in cell metabolism
through the covalent modification of glucose-responsible transcriptional
factors. This fact is well documented in the cases of
the transcriptional repressor Mig1 and transcriptional activators
Cat8 and Sip4 [30]. It was of interest to ascertain whether
some of the well known effectors of Snf1 were also implicated
in controlling K+ uptake
