The receptive language was measured with a French adaptation of the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test, fourth edition (Dunn and Dunn, 2002). This test assesses receptive vocabulary of children and adults, aged from 2.6 to 90 years old, by presenting, for each item, four pictures and the examinee selecting the one that best represents the word pronounced by the evaluator.
Intelligence quotient and receptive language assessments, administered in that order, took about 1h30 to complete. The eval- uator was either a psychologist or an undergraduate student who was supervised by a psychologist for the evaluation. Two testing sessions were programmed in order to sustain children’s attention throughout the assessment.
