This is not about fighting for peace. This isn’t about overthrowing government and rebooting the system. This shift has nothing to do with fixing the economy, or creating more jobs so that we can all go back to our desks and make more pieces of paper to survive. Instead of limiting ourselves to the routines and confines that have been passed down from one generation to the next, we are going to step back for a moment, and observe just how much of it is necessary, how much of it truly resonates with the core of our being.
It is now time to clear up the slate, and open ourselves up to new possibilities. This is about realizing how none of what we have created needs to be this way. It’s about stepping outside of all of these boxes that tell us how it is supposed to be.
You see, we have been trained to believe that we must go war to create peace. We have been trained to believe that we are separate from each other and the earth we live on, or that the rule must be “every man for himself”. We have been sold on the idea that it is natural for a few people to own land and resources, and to create a money system that requires the rest of us to work for survival.
But is this natural… or is this just one way to play the game?
As Gandhi said, we live in a world where there is enough for everyone’s need, but not for everyone’s greed. Struggle, greed, competition, hierarchy… all of these are optional. They are programmed behaviors that have simply offered us the experience of what it is like to live our lives in a state of separation, of illusion. But we have now outgrown this experience; this is why it doesn’t sit well with us any longer.
The point is not to waste our time in judgment of past or present experiences. The key here is to understand that every experience offers a lesson. Even the path that humanity has taken, no matter how deep we have gone in the mud, is teaching us a most powerful and loving lesson:
Living our lives disconnected from our heart, from nature, from each other… will never work in the long run.
It is now time to learn that lesson. It is time to stop kidding ourselves, to stop thinking we aren’t powerful enough, that we have to wait for a form of government, that we cannot create an entirely different world that is in tune with our heart and soul. It is time to let go of our fear of thinking outside the box and to start putting our limitless creativity at work. It is time to stop the cycle of blame, of judgment, of anger, of doubt… and realize that we have been collectively creating our experience all along, and that we also have the power to uncreate, and recreate it on all levels.
We each possess a gift, a piece of the puzzle that we came here to share with the world. It is an inner light that only asks of us to let go of our baggage from the past, our stories of doubt, and our tendency to look outside of us for peace, so that it can shine to its brightest. This light is who we truly are. It is a peaceful light that has the power to bring about a world free of boundaries in which we can share, contribute with our gifts, assist each other, play and experience life as we were designed to.
