was significantly affected by the 35 C treatment but this
depended on the day (day treatment < 0.001 Table 1) for all species:
on each of the treatment days, yield was significantly higher
in the 35 C treatment than in ambient conditions, while on the
last day (held at ambient), there was no significant difference
between treatments (Fig. 4a–d). The magnitude of response in
/PSII was affected by ambient PPFD and this relationship can be
described by a linear trend (R2 ranged from 0.82 to 0.96; Fig. 5),
for example, /PSII of H. uninervis was 4% higher in the 35 C treatment
on day 4 when light was 172 lmol photons m2 s1, and
33% higher on day 2 when light was 590 lmol photons m2 s1.
