And, as a review, the main aspects of Zen practice are:
(1) Meditating, while focusing on the breath. In this process, one ideally directs one’s awareness on the navel area, which is considered to be the energy center of the body. One can meditate alone or with others in a hall (called zendo) set aside for meditation.
(2)While sitting in meditation, one observes the mind. One does not try to interfere with thoughts. Instead one just lets them arise and depart, while being aware of them.
