Dear Hansi,
Please see my information below.
1. You mentioned that “an company which is managed by industrial standard”, may I know what’s field this company engages in?
It ‘s Dupont Thailand (http://www.dupont.co.th/)
2. Actually, the safety standard is varied by country. In term of the traffic regulations in Taiwan, while the passenger car is driven on the highway, and the speed is over 60kph, the rear car must keep a safety distance from the font car. The calculation of the safety distance is that: (Current speed / 2). For example, while the rear car drove at 100kph, it must keep 50m from the front car. As Ken mentioned, each manufacturer got their own mechanism and the speed threshold to trigger the FCWS function.
At the beginning we understood that the speed cannot be customized then we told customer that it is fixed by design from Garmin. That ‘s the reason why he would like to know how you got the speed and he would like to know the standard for reference.
3. May I know the possible volume of this project? If the volume is big, we can even consider to customize the speed threshold to trigger the FCWS for you.
The expected initial volume would be around 10 units.
