Cover and biomass were significantly different by slope aspect, with
the greatest values found on NW, which were about two times those on
SF (Table 2). On SF, Agropyron cristatum had the greatest Iv, while on SW
Carex aridula had the greatest Iv and on NW Kobresia humilis had the
greatest Iv. The plant community composition varied by slope aspect
as did relative abundance (Table 3), but for other species, Iv was not necessarily
related to relative abundance.
