A sustainable solution to portable sound, the “Trobla” from TOK TOK design studio takes audio back to its bare essentials. Named after the Slovenian word for “horn,” the designers create a product in their favored material wood, that could amplify the sound from a mobile phone without the use of electrical components. Inspired by its namesake, the easy to carry box uses a cone formation to, in Tok Tok’s own words, “keep tones sharp” as well as a series of chambers “to enhance the stereophony and low frequencies.” A series of interchangeable adapters fit a wide range of bottom speaker phones including iPhones, Samsung Galaxy and Sony Xperia. Weighing 300 grams, the company source local wood to create this attractive piece of kit available through a Kickstarter project.
