. Ss form a pair. Use your consideration as to what to do if you have one student without a partner. I will tell my students to have anybody to act along in the role-play. You cannot allow them to have a group of 3.
2. Each pair comes up with a conversation. I will tell mine to model their conversation after the activities marked Communication Tasks or the examples in each unit (e.g., phone conversations, self-introductions, discussions about weather)
3. Each conversation is about 300 words long. The turns and amount of each person’s script should be balanced. Their conversation must be based on any of the topics covered in Units 1-5 with at least 10 vocabulary words (the ones in boxes on various pages throughout).
4. The students video-record themselves role-playing the conversation. This way they get to choose their best performance and give the recording to their teachers. I will allow mine a few options for submission. They can post their videos on this course’s Facebook group, give them to me in CD or thumb drive. The deadline or the submission of the first role –play is October 18, 2015, the second, November 6, and the third, November 27.
5. I will grade my students by averaging scores from both of them. This way, they help each other to do their best, not just working hard on their own part of the entire conversation.
