2.4. Lipid peroxidation assay
Lipid peroxidation was evaluated by determining the concentration of thiobarituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS). Briefly, 100lL plasma or serious diluted TEP
(as standard) was mixed with an equal volume of TCA (25%) and centrifuged at
8000 r/min for 30 min. The supernatants were added to the tube containing
150 mL 1% 2-thiobarituric acid and vigorously mixed. The mixtures were heated
at 95C for 40 min and cooled to room temperature for 15 min. The concentration
of TBARS was determined by fluorescent spectrophotometer (excitation and emission wavelengths were 532 and 600 nm, respectively)
