While it is hard to say whether there is legitimacy behind the notion that showrooming impacts
specialty retailers more than other traditional retailers, the most important fact remains: that
showrooming largely and undeniably impacts all retailers. Furthermore, showrooming will only
become more pervasive as time and technology continue to evolve. Most importantly, this does
not mean a dismal death for brick and mortar stores. The retailer who can embrace the
transitioning world of retail by continually refining their omnichannel efficiencies, in-store

customer experience, social media strategy, and unique offerings will certainly maximize vitality
and longevity of their business.
