Through bringing together city representatives of elite students and young professionals, the Future City Summit hopes to gather different perspectives from our network universities in their respective cities in analyzing global and regional issues and provide valuable insights for our future leaders.
We thereby welcome outstanding students to share their visionary projects as scholars in our showcase session during our conference. There is a quota of ten scholars with scholarships awarded.
Scholarship benefits:
A total value of 3000 Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) will be awarded to the scholars, which will be sufficient to cover the program fee and accommodation fee for the conference.
Scholars will be recognized as the honorary recipient of our scholarship of the Future City Summit 2016.
Scholars will be given the precious opportunity to proudly present the projects they have been researching on in the showcase session in the conference.
A reception tailored exclusively for our scholars will be organized during the conference, where scholars can meet and mingle with our honorable guests.
Requirements of projects showcase:
The project focuses on recommending feasible and effective solutions to a current city problem or proposing an innovation, either of which is closely related to at least one of our panels in regards of future city.
The materials selected from the projects and the presentation style of the project showcase should be capable of providing innovative ideas and insights to other delegates.
The project showcase should utilize multi-media, so as to effectively present the highlights of the projects and to better engage the audience.
The project being presented must be an ongoing or completed project, which lasted for at least three months.
Application of scholarship:
Interested and willing delegates have to submit a proposal via our website.
Shortlisted delegates will be interviewed by the organizing committee of the Future City Summit from the University of Hong Kong.
At most 10 delegates will be selected as scholars. They are required to report their progress of preparation to the organizing committee of the Future City Summit from the University of Hong Kong.
They will be responsible for preparing for the materials used in the project showcase.
The deadline of the scholarship application is June 30, 2016.
