Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University administers various and scholarship schemes and programs. These schemes and programs are offered on merit and competitive bases to applicants to the university programs. These schemes include:

Scholarships

HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, scholarship will be awarded to 20 students who excelled in their high schools and who are interested in pursuing further university studies at HBMSU.

The 20 eligible students will be primarily selected based on their high school grades and meeting the entry requirements of HBMSU programs. Other terms and conditions may apply to the selection process.

To apply for the scholarship, submit your online application before the 31st of July 2015.

Sheikha Shamsa Bint Suheil Chair in Business and Financial Studies

Shamsa Bint Suhail Chair in Business and Financial Studies has been established to award four scholarships in the school of Business and Quality Management to successful applicants as per the Chair criteria in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed between Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University and Shamsa Bint Suhail Award for Creative Women.

The Scholarship is available to Qualified Arab applicants to undergraduate and postgraduate programs within in the school of Business and Quality Management. The main criteria for this financial aid are the financial needs and meeting the program entry requirements. Other terms and conditions apply to the selection process.

HBMSU Special Scholarship

HBMSU Special Scholarship is available to applicants to undergraduate and postgraduate programs (Master’s Degree) across the three schools. The main criteria for this financial aid are the financial needs and meeting the program entry requirements. Other terms and conditions apply to the selection process.

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University administers various semester based scholarship schemes that are offered on merit and competitive bases to applicants to the university programs or learners without discrimination with regards to gender, nationality or origin.

1. Tuition Remission for outstanding learners

All new officially admitted learners to the undergraduate programs and who have completed their high school certificate and demonstrated academic excellence by achieving a minimum grade point average of 90% are entitled to a tuition remission of 20% of the tuition fee of the program for the first semester they are enrolled in (transferred learners are excluded from this discount).

A continuing full-time undergraduate learner who achieves a minimum GPA of 3.60 out of 4.00 in a given semester where the academic load is 15 C/Hrs minimum, is entitled to a tuition remission of 15% of the tuition fees for the following regular semester he/she will enrol in.

All new officially admitted learners to the postgraduate programs ( Master degrees) who demonstrate academic excellence in thier undergraduate studies by achieving a minimum cumulative grade average of 3.60 out of 4.00 or its equivalent are entitled to the tuition remission of 20% of the registration fees for the first semester he/she is enrolled in, (transferred learners are excluded from this discount.

A continuing full-time Postgraduate learner who achieves a minimum GPA of 3.70 out of 4.00 in a given semester where the academic load is 9 C/Hrs minimum is entitled to a tuition remission of 15% of the tuition fees for the following regular semester he/she will enrol.

A continuing full-time postgraduate learner (Ph.D.) who achieved a minimum GPA of 3.70 out of 4.00 in a given semester where the academic load is 9 C/Hrs minimum is entitled to a tuition remission of 15% of the tuition fees for the following regular semester he/she will enrol (not applicable for dissertation).

This scheme is not applicable for summer enrolment.

2. Staff Scholrship

All full-time staff of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, who have successfully completed their probation, shall be entitled to 40% scholarship, as long as the full-time member of staff is employed at HBMSU, and meets the satisfactory academic progress requirements; if the staff/learner has received an academic warning, the scholarship will be automatically discontinued; should he/she remove the academic warning in the next semester, he /she will benefit from the scholarship for the following semester.

3. University Partners

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University has numerous agreements and MOUs with government, semi government and Private departments, civil and business organizations within UAE and the region. University Partners are entitled to a tuition remission of 10% of the tuition fees. The Learner shall apply for this scholarship and attach the required document at the beginning of fall semester .

4. Sponsored Learners

Learners can also be sponsored by government bodies, public and private organizations, or individuals. Such learners shall submit an official letter from their sponsor directed to the University Registrar, clarifying the conditions governing the sponsorship. However learner’s sponsor, if any, shall be able to receive an offical transcript whenever requested or at the end of each semester . The sponsored learners shall pay all fees not related to their tuition as per the sponsorship letter. In case the sponsor wishes to regret the sponsorship, the learner shall be responsible for any outstanding payment.

Important Information:
A learner cannot be granted more than one scheme at a time. In the case where a learner is eligible for more than one scheme, the one with the highest benefit to the learner will be applicable.
Ph.D. dissertation is not covered by any scheme.
Repeated Courses will not be covered by any of the above listed schemes. The cost related to repeated courses will be added to learners’ financial statement three weeks from the start of each semester.
Program based scholarships covers full program tuition fees within all semesters including summer, no other fees like e-Books/Books, MAP, or any other administrative fee are covered with those schemes.
Semester based scholarships covers regular semesters and not including summer, no other fees like e-Books/Books, MAP, or any other administrative fee are covered with those schemes.
