The extraction of HAA5 (monochloroacetic acid, monobromoacetic acid,
dichloroacetic acid, trichloroacetic acid and bromochloroacetic acid)
followed indications of USEPA method 552.2 and was analyzed by a
GC–ECD (Munch et al., 1995). The detection limit for all HAAs analyzed
was 0.75 μg/l. The analysis methods for THMs and HAAs are detailed in
SI2 and SI3, respectively.
