The primary advantage of this arrangement was that a clear chain of command existed and the personality quirks of individuals were minimized or eliminated altogether. Each worker could be hired, supervised, trained, evaluated, or fired in accordance with rules that were known or knowable to every worker beforehand. Under the Weberian scheme, workers were ensured equitable treatment and neutral enforcement of the rules. This structure improved an organization's operation because it removed "non-scientific" factors from consideration.
