3) Consciousness
The level of consciousness on admission had a close
relationship with the outcome. A score of 3 or better
was found to be significantly correlated with better
prognosis (p < 0.005). Only 1 of 17 such cases
showed an ADL greater than 4 (tables 1 and 3). A
relationship between the outcome and the differences
between the level of consciousness at onset and admission
is shown in table 4.
