The raw data produced by AisaEAGLE were radiometrically corrected with CaliGeo 4.9.15 software (Spectral Imaging Ltd., Finland)
and geocoded with Parge software (Schläpfer and Richter, 2002).
The geocoding in Parge was done by direct georeferencing where
pixel positions are calculated from the position and orientation
of the sensor and elevations from digital elevation model (DEM).
The georeferenced flight lines were then mosaicked and subsetted to cover only the study area. The DEM was interpolated from
50-feet interval contour lines that were captured from survey of
Kenya topographic maps at 1:50,000 scale byPe
Atmospheric correction was applied to reduce the impacts of atmospheric water vapor and haze on the classification results.
The correction was done with ATCOR-4, which is based on MODTRAN
code (Richter and Schläpfer, 2002). Nikon D3X images were geo
referenced using EnsoMosaic software (Holm et al., 1999).
