suspected private companies use it for commercial purposes. However, the witnesses did not dare to take any action because they did not want to risk their lives, confronting such powerful companies.
(c) Ill-designed coastal structures. Many coastal structures have been inserted into the coastal system. Some were incorrectly configured and some simply disregarded potential negative effects. For example, T-groins were placed so far apart that the waves could penetrate into the gaps and erode the road (Fig. 3b). A groin was constructed to prevent the sand from depositing but it totally ignored erosion that would occur at the downdrift side (Fig. 3c).
