Apart from the neglect for protective apparatuses, the
habits of eating and drinking water in between spraying
operations, especially during resting or reloading periods,
were quite rampant among the farmers. They also delayed in
changing their work outfits. Although most of them claimed
to remove their work outfits immediately after spraying
operations, the interval between the time insecticide gets
applied, and some further work gets done on the farm before
returning to the village, which is usually a good distance
away, can delay changing of the clothes. These habits invariably
increase the risk of contamination by oral and dermal
routes and may result in cumulative poisoning.
