Metrohm Siam currently does the calculation of the landed cost in Excel after they have received the freight invoice and then enter the individual landed costs back into AX, i.e. very cumbersome and labor intensive.
However, I know that Metrohm Singapore does it in AX. AX knows which items arrived with a certain shipment and once the total freight invoice is entered, AX uses the article number value as allocation key to calculate the landed cost for each item. In the meantime, I also got a better understanding of the problems at Metrohm Siam. It is not per se the allocation of the freight cost but it is the different tax rates for different imported items. So the expanded question is whether it is possible to create some logic in AX which 1) allocates the freight charges (possible as per Singapore) and 2) applies different tax rates depending on article number.
