The articles reviewed suggest interventions for the child and family (primarily parents) regarding education for parents (Aburn & Gott,2011) as well as of psychosocial interventions (Peek & Melnyk, 2011). Unfortunately, most of the suggestion are based on descriptive results and thus no innovation to be implemented can be identified(Table1). However, one telling example of an innovation that can be implemented is Ringner's (2013 in progress) study evaluating parent's experiences of an individual-based educational approach. Nevertheless, few studies concern interventions directed towards the children themselves, such as, for example, coping mechanisms for handling their situation in relation to their diagnosis.
