When there is more than one negative in a sentence confusion might arise. Often people use the mathematic rules, negative and negative makes positive. And this should be the same in a sentence. But if we then have three negatives it should stay one negative, but which one do we than keep negative. The sentences would not make sense anymore. Applying logic to language mostly doesn’t help. On top of that we see that double negatives are mostly used in spoken language, almost never do we encounter double negatives in written form. Human beings are able to distinguish more detailed. Our mind is not black or white, negative or positive. We see different nuances and there can be options in between negative or positive.
