In recent years, the literature reported the occurrence of various
types of active constituents from M. speciosa, which include saponins, phenolic glycosides, pterocarpans, flavonoids, isoflavonoids and sterols. As a part of our ongoing program toward the discovery of novel bioactive constituents from the genus Millettia, we have isolated two new rotenoids, namely millettiaosas A, B togetherwith four known compounds from the roots of M. speciosa.
