2 - PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Performance requirements must be met both before and after all applicable Use and Abuse testing.
2.1 - Screws and similar fasteners must not be of a metal, which is soft or liable to creep such as zinc or aluminum.
2.2 - Screws and similar fasteners of insulating material must have a nominal diameter of at least 3 mm (0.12 in) and must not be used for electrical connections.
2.3 - Screws and similar fasteners transmitting electrical contact pressure, i.e., and electrical connection, must screw into metal.
2.4 - No damage must occur to screws and nuts that would impair their further use. Also, any damage must not impair compliance with the procedures listed in Appendix 1.
2.5 - Battery compartments that fall within the scope of this document must continue to require a tool to open.
2.6 - Electrical connections carrying a current > 0.5 A must be constructed so that contact pressure is not transmitted through insulating material that is liable to shrink or to distort.
