The key role of the Project Manager (PM) is to establish a culture that insists on a high safety standards at every level within the project. The PM will appoint competent people, clarify roles and accountabilities, and monitor and manage the performance of the project team to ensure all SHEC objectives are met.
Project Manager is responsible for:
• Executing the project to an approved Project Execution Plan
• The provision of adequate resources, facilities and initiatives to deliver the SHEC requirements • Chairing monthly safety meetings
• Establishing and enhancing a culture within the project team which insists on high safety standards across all aspects of the project
• Demonstrating leadership commitment through personal participation at all levels of safety on the Project and not accepting behaviours, which could put people at risk of harm or injury.
