Sleeping on the Job
MARK TASKO IS A BUSY MAN. he gets up very early in the morning.he goes to bed very iate at night. he works hard at his job every day. in the afternoon, he feels tired. Some people drink coffee when they feel sleepy at work. then they feel morebawake. Mark does not drink coffee when he is sleepy at work. he does something different. he sleeps. Is Mark's boss angry? No. Some American companies now believe that naps help their workers. When people are tired, they do not do good work. After they take a nap, they can do better work. In some countries, such as Japan, sleeping at work is not unusuai. But this is a new idea in the U.S. Some American companies now have quiet nap rooms for theirworkers. The nap rooms have comfortable chairs and blankets. Some nap rooms have music, too. the workers can go into a nap room and sleep for a little while. Then they go back to work. Mark Tasko takes naps for only 15 or 20 minutes. Then he can work again. That's good for Mark Tasko, and it's good for the company, too!
