However, the proportional increase will be
greater in the developing countries. In
developed countries, the increase in prevalence
will be 27%, from 6.0 to 7.6%. In
developing countries, the increase will be
48%, from 3.3 to 4.9%.
The highest increases in prevalence
between 1995 and 2025 will be for China
(68%) and India (59%). LAC and OAI will
both experience a 41% increase, and MEC
will experience a 30% increase. The incre a s e
will be lowest in FSE (26%) and EME (28%).
