Looking at Blackberry’s global shipment figures it can be seen that shipments have declined significantly around the world. The company’s global revenue figures have also taken a dive in the past few years down from more than 19 billion in 2011, to less than 12 billion just two years later. Compared to 2011, in the 2012 and 2013 financial years Blackberry increased the amount spent on research and development, presumably in the hope that they could design a new product and campaign to put them back in the game again with the other big players in the market
