Fish
Fish and seafood products from all over the world arrive at the Port of Hamburg and are sold or processed at the Hamburg Fish Market. Seafood specialties are transported from Norway, Canada, Iceland, Asia or South America in reefer containers with a temperature of -18 degrees Celsius.
Fresh fish and frozen prepared or ready-to-eat fish products are generally shipped to destinations in the Hamburg metropolitan area as well as throughout Germany. About 10-15 percent of the goods are for export to other countries in the EU or in Eastern Europe.
