To make a long story short, seven months ago I decided to move to another country to make a new life for myself. It took me all of six months to find a job. It was a rough six months, barely surviving on my savings, having little to no friends, and homesickness was getting the better of me. I was negative and downcast, I thought I was never going to get a job and was about to pack up and leave to go home.
Then a week before I was scheduled to go home, I got a call from one of the companies that I was interviewed for, and was told that I was hired! And I was offered more than what I was asking for as a starting salary. I was happy, but at the same time I still carried the negativity from my experience of the past six months. True enough, I had a rough start with the company. I was thinking that this was too good to be true and that there was a catch here somewhere. Upon signing the contract, I was told by the person who hired me that I won't be getting the amount stated in the contract because of "training fees." This only made me doubt and think more negative thoughts about the company.
To make a long story short, everything went downhill from there. What I thought was a blessing was now turning into a curse. I was crying most of the time because of the working hours which were odd - the management did not follow any of the stated working hours in the contract, nor did they honor any of the other stipulations. I was down and even more depressed than when I first started.
Then I remembered "The Secret." I had packed it in my suitcase when I was just about to move. I opened my copy and started re-reading it and going to this website more often. Four weeks into my job, I finally decided to put my foot down. I know I wanted to work in a more positive environment with a company that will support my growth and won't cheat me out of what was due me. So without hesitating, I tendered in my resignation. I had no other option and with money running low, I knew that it looked like a rash decision. But I knew after reading the book that something better was out there for me.
The next day after tendering in my resignation, I got a call from one of the biggest companies in the industry. It was the company that I had always wanted to get into. They said that they were interviewing for an opening that I wanted! I had just sent them my CV on the day that I resigned! I went to the interview the following week and was told that I passed the first round! I am now in the process of doing my presentation for them and I have already claimed that this is "MY JOB!" I know I will ace this presentation!
