Dear Vendor,
Loblaw Companies is committed to the growth and health of our brands and to providing great products which delight our customers. A key component to delivering on that commitment is producing product that consistently meets quality and safety specifications. As of February 1st 2014, we enhanced our Central Quality Assurance Product Testing Program as part of an integrated quality strategy to further that goal.
To that end, effective immediately, all Loblaw control brand food products will be tested annually or more frequently as necessary and have nutritional analysis verified at a minimum every two years.
This program will continue to be administered through Silliker Canada Co., and all costs associated with this will be the responsibility of the vendor.
Loblaw Companies Ltd. has secured enhanced preferred rates on behalf of our vendor community–please refer to Appendix 1.
Further, although we have made sound improvements in the frequency of control brand recalls throughout 2013 these events continue to have a significant financial impact on our business. As a result, please note that Loblaw Recall Cost Recovery Fees have been updated to more accurately align with the costs incurred to our business–please refer to Appendix 2.
Finally, moving forward, all costs incurred by Loblaw Companies Ltd. to compensate customers and/or secure and handle complaint samples resulting from quality or specification non-compliance will be the responsibility of the vendor.
