3.3. Excess entropy of mixing
The vibrational entropies of the CuZn15 and CuZn34 samples at
298.15 K are 34.17 (±0.07) and 35.63 (±0.07) J mol
1
, respectively
(table 6). These values are independent from the thermal
history of the samples (Section 3.2). Comparing long range ordered
with disordered samples in other metallic systems, distinct differences
in the vibrational entropy were found e.g., [44–46]. It is possible
that the change in vibrational entropy with ordering becomes
effective only with long range ordering. However, this suggestion
should be a subject of further studies.
