The pressure (P) were measured at five points by the pressure transmitter (model: HUBA 0-1600 mb) and process screen of an accuracy of 1% (model: ESM-490048 · 96DIN 1/4). To measure the pressure drop, the five pressure transmitter were installed to pressure tappings on the pipe; before rotary feeder (PM1), after rotary feeder (PM2), before conveying U-bend at a distance of 10.25 m from rotary feeder (PM3), after conveying U-bend (PM4), and at the inlet of the vertical pipe at a distance of 6.10 m from the conveying U-bend (PM5). The height of the vertical pipe was 2.40 m. The last pressure measured before the cyclone was always at atmospheric. No tapping,therefore, was located. Pressure drop was the difference between the two pressures at the two measurement points.The total pressure drop shown in the results refers to the pressure difference along the full length of the pipe tested, namely, between pressures at the first measurement point before the hopper feeder and the atmospheric pressure
before the cyclone.
