Survey teams’ assessment outcomes and judgements about the organisation’s accreditation status were similar.
The result, however, was compromised by events beyond the study setting, interactions of surveyors, surveyororganisational influences and researcher-participant relationships. Analysis of these data reveals inconsistencies, pressures, politics and anxieties. Together, but without active coordination, they conspired to challenge a scientific approach.
