Variable zones of microbial growth inhibition were noted in
both of the plant essential oils (Fig. 3). Zones of growth depend on
the concentration of essential oil. The essential oil from chamomile
were strongly bactericidal than the essential oil from fennel.
The concentration of 20 g/disc was the best concentration as
antimicrobial activity. Chamomile and fennel extracts exhibited
considerable antimicrobial activity against all the strains tested,
particularly against Gram-positive bacteria. Methanol extract was
the higher effect as antimicrobial activity than other extracts
(Table 4).
